SLP Clinical Fellowship Requirements

At Invo, we’re proud to help emerging Speech-Language Pathologists take the next step in their professional journey. Our Clinical Fellowship program provides the structure, mentorship, and experience needed to launch a successful and rewarding career in speech-language pathology.

Mentor Setup
Clinical Fellows (CFs) must complete their fellowship under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist holding their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Mentors are required to have at least nine months of full-time clinical experience and a minimum of two hours of professional development in supervision.

Invo provides each CF with a qualified supervising therapist and offers personalized mentorship and placement support. We carefully match Clinical Fellows with school-based opportunities that align with their career goals, ensuring a strong fit between mentor and mentee and setting the stage for long-term success.

Working Hours
To complete the Clinical Fellowship, CFs must complete a minimum of 1,260 working hours over at least 36 weeks of full-time employment (or the part-time equivalent).

Invo provides the structured supervision needed to meet these requirements. Full-time work at one of our partner schools during the academic year fulfills both the hour and duration standards set by ASHA for fellowship completion.

Evaluation of Performance
At the end of the Clinical Fellowship, the CF mentor and fellow review performance to identify strengths and opportunities for continued growth. ASHA requires performance feedback at the end of the final segment of the CF experience, with the fellow earning a score of “2” or higher on all skills within the Clinical Fellowship Skills Inventory.

All work completed under Invo supervision is reviewed and verified by your assigned mentor for submission with your ASHA certification application.

Invo is proud to support the next generation of speech-language professionals—providing guidance, mentorship, and meaningful opportunities to make a difference from the very start of your career.
