Childhood Trauma
The IMPACT Model
Invo’s Integrated Multidisciplinary Program to Address Childhood Trauma (IMPACT) is the only treatment framework of its kind. It addresses the emotional and behavioral challenges of students by integrating an understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) into a team approach to clinical mental health treatment.
Central to the IMPACT program are skilled mental health and behavioral professionals who:
- Engage students in therapeutic sessions, driven by individually tailored treatment plans, which give students effective coping skills and insight into their emotions.
- Collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and school staff to ensure a cohesive, aligned and committed support network.
- Provide ongoing training for educators and caregivers to build their capacity to reinforce positive behaviors, implement therapeutic strategies across different settings, and ultimately foster generalization of skills for students in the natural environment.

Key Differentiators of the IMPACT Program
Integrated Approach
A multidisciplinary approach of clinical mental health treatment that addresses ACEs ensures comprehensive and personalized support for students’ emotional, behavioral and academic needs.
Real-Time Data-Driven Treatment
Our proprietary data platform, Insight, provides real-time data to assess needs, devise and adapt treatment plans, and monitor and report results.
Independently Proven Effectiveness
Students show significant improvements and outcomes, which are independently validated by The Center for Behavior Analysis at Clemson University.
Culture and Engagement Impact
Classroom culture improves through reduction in aggressive behaviors and disruptions, with improvements in classroom functioning and attention.
Upskilling Staff and Families
Our classroom observations, professional learning sessions, and consultations equip educators, clinicians and staff with essential skills to effectively support students. We include families in treatment and training to provide practical tools, skills, and interventions for the home setting.
Building Capacity
A unique model that once designed and implemented, district capacity is built to expand and fully run the program with customized supports.
The IMPACT clinical team is customized to your school based on your needs and goals.
IMPACT is Invo’s groundbreaking Multidisciplinary Program designed to address childhood trauma through a remarkable integrated approach. In response to the urgent need for effective resources, we are partnering with elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide to support teachers and administrators in helping high-needs, at-risk youth. Students facing significant trauma are at a greater risk for adverse outcomes, including higher dropout rates, increased violence, chronic health issues, substance abuse, and even early death.
What sets IMPACT apart is its unique collaboration between experts in both mental health and behavioral science.
The team can range from one clinician to as many as four. The team wraps support around students, educators, staff and leaders – providing direct intervention, consultation, professional learning and planning that is all aligned and truly changes school climate.
By cross-training staff and employing an integrated approach, we treat the whole child, leaving no aspect of their well-being unaddressed. This innovative model is implemented directly on school campuses, eliminating family barriers to treatment and ensuring consistent, accessible support.
Addressing Trauma at the Root
Students supported through Invo’s IMPACT program often carry a high burden of adversity, underscoring the need for intensive, trauma-informed care.
Students entered services with an average Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) score between 2.6 and 3.4, indicating multiple exposures to trauma before reaching middle or high school.
Learn more about ACES
Join Invo Healthcare and our conversation with Keith Cartwright from the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) as we explore the movement away from reactive discipline, utilizing ACES as a method for guiding environments, and how you can create positive learning environments.
Disproportionately Addressed, Not Just Identified
More than 65% of students receiving IMPACT services in our Southern Nevada region identify as BIPOC. Without IMPACT, these students are disproportionately missing learning time when they are out of class for disciplinary reasons, absent due to challenges attending school, or unengaged in class.
IMPACT fixed disproportionality by getting services to our most vulnerable and often marginalized students.
Data for Decisions
Invo Healthcare’s electronic health record (EHR) platform, Insight, was developed to support school-based mental and behavioral health therapists within the IMPACT program.
Streamline collaboration, integrate trauma history, and view real time data to improve student outcomes.
More Minutes,
More Learning
Every learning minute counts, and now students are showing up ready to learn, with fewer emotional outbursts and more stamina – instructional game changers.
“I’ve seen firsthand the return on investment in IMPACT. From increased instructional time to improved student behavior, this program has changed the trajectory of our school. For us, finding a way to continue this partnership.”

Validated by Review
The IMPACT model and the dashboards Insight provides are all research backed, and reinforced through our partnership with Clemson University’s Center for Behavior Analysis, the only R1 research center of its kind.
Students who received
integrated services displayed
significant improvement in
mastering treatment goals
and reported improvement in
all domain areas of the
assessment.
In all domains, both students &
guardians reported progress,
with several domains indicating
well above 100% improvement,
including anxiety symptoms,
coping skills, behavior, and
self-esteem.
The results obtained from the IMPACT program study are significant in many ways and demonstrate gains in coping,
regulation, crisis response, and student connectedness.
